He has vast experience in high net worth and ultra-high net worth estate planning, developing asset protection solutions, drafting complex trusts, business succession planning, and tax reduction strategies. Dunkelgrun can advise clients on advanced insurance solutions such as premium finance and life settlements.

Dunkelgrun is well-versed at designing complex trusts, including Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, Domestic and Offshore Asset Protection Trusts, Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, Intentionally Defective Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, Spousal Lifetime Access Trusts, and other planning concepts like Medicaid trusts, supplemental needs trusts, pet trusts, dynasty trusts, hybrid trusts and more.

Prior to joining Aloia Roland, Dunkelgrun practiced in the area of Wills, Trusts and Estates at Pierro, Connor & Strauss located in Latham, New York. He started his legal career as an attorney at Forks Law located in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

 

Before entering the field of law, Dunkelgrun founded multiple companies. He specialized in strategy, risk management, finance, operations and portfolio servicing. Dunkelgrun provided compliance solutions to the accounts receivable industry, advised on corporate governance matters and private equity offerings. For nearly a decade, Dunkelgrun served in management for Ibex Group where he served in multiple roles and specialized in sophisticated estate planning solutions, offshore investment structures and advanced insurance solutions.

Dunkelgrun received his Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Bolton located in England.

Stefan serves on the board of directors of the Gulf Coast Symphony, which is the second-largest non-profit performing arts organization in Lee County. The Gulf Coast Symphony’s ultimate goal is to use music and the arts as a vehicle to unite and strengthen our community.
